We are already into the first few weeks of April and I feel like mother nature hasn’t gotten the memo that April Fool’s Day is over. What’s with this weather? First, we get that invigorating burst of sunshine followed by clouds, rain and snow (yes, snow)!? With all the confusion on what season that we are in, I’m finding it hard to plan out an outfit for the day that can take me from sunshine to snowfall all in under 24 hours.
My daughter on the other hand is loving this weather. The other morning when I was taking her to school she happily raced around the driveway with her hands in the air shouting, “Mommy look, it’s like we are living in a giant snow globe.” She was right, the snow was falling heavily around us and it was quite magical.
Every day after school my daughter begs me to let her run around with her friends outside to expel all their extra energy that they’ve stored up throughout the school day. Usually, I gladly agree but with all the storms that we’ve been having lately and the muddy mess that has ensued, I’ve promised her that once we buy her new rain boots she can splash around in as many muddy puddles as she likes. That’s when I realized that maybe the answer to my spring outfit debacle was a great pair of rain boots for myself.
So last week on a rainy Monday (go figure), I loaded the kids into the car and we set off on the hunt for the perfect pair of rain boots. I scored these navy Hunter boots at Lord & Taylor and I love them because they can take me from working in the garden on warm spring days straight into those cold rainy days and (eek!) even snowy days. Pair them with skinny jeans and a flowy top or dress them up with a short summer dress and you’ll be sure to stun.
Hunter recently designed a collection of rain boots for men, women and children that is exclusively being sold at Target so our hunt will continue there for the perfect pair of rain boots for Teagan to test out those muddy puddles in.
Tell me, what’s your must have spring accessory?
